The water bottle market continues to grow. More and more people are drinking bottled water every day. So that means there are more water bottle plants than ever before. And these plants are stretched to the max to keep up with the growing demand. Some bottling plants can make and fill thousands of bottles an hour. Downtime is not an option. Even a few hours of lost production can be painful. Even more painful is realizing you have no back-up plan for when your bottle plants air system goes down. Fire drill time. How much air do we need? What pressure do we need? What about the dew point? Who do we call for a rental? Where do we tie in the air, the power? Do we have available power? The best time to answer these questions is, of course, not when there’s a fire drill, but when everything is working correctly and you can take your time to put together a detailed back up plan.
Bottles are becoming thinner too. So having the correct pressure is vital. Close enough is not good enough. Too much pressure or too little pressure will damage the bottle in production. Not enough flow can be bad too as production will have to be slowed to match the available air flow.
Most facilities have detailed back up plans for emergencies but many do not include their air system in these plans. Without air, production stops. Without the correct pressure, flow and dew point, production becomes a mess. Taking a few hours to put together a plan will make an air emergency a bit less stressful. Be sure to discuss with your local rental air expert also. They can help you get the exact system you need to keep production up. Include them in your emergency planning team. And the next bottle of water you drink can be enjoyed, stress free.
